Yeah, the spelling of the name!

What became Hallion was a recording project I started back in 2001/2002. There was another "Hellion" that I discovered had been around since the 80's and still active.

I wrote to the guys in that band and although they were wished us well and had no problems with us sharing the name.... it just didn't feel right.

It was my grandparents that suggested using the original Irish spelling, "Hallion" instead. My ears pricked up as I'd suddenly heard the name of the band that would be my life! It sounded perfect!

Not forgetting that they had also given me the nickname of "Ruadh" (Gaelic for the colour red) when I was born...

I have a lot to thank them for!

The album art by Jim Fanthorpe, an old bud I went to school with, was brought over on New Years Eve of that year. My favourite car, bursting through a wall of flame. I couldn't have asked for a better cover than this for "Born Of Fire".
