Things have been busy for the three of us, I've been writing the 3rd album "Forgive Never Forget", demoed it and we're VERY close to having this latest recording finished!

Seeing as it's been since early 2006 that we've released any new material, we figured we better make up for the gap by releasing THREE new CD's. (We just wanted to make it up to you all haha)
The 2nd release will be intended as a free gift to all members of The Hallion Horde. We wanted to say thank you for your continued support of Hallion. Remember all those cover songs that we've closed our sets with over the years? Well, they're ALL there! Studio recordings for you to keep. It's a SEVENTEEN song Covers EP. (We refer to it as that because it is by no means a new Hallion album)

Updates on some of our friends in this entry.
Our "brother band" Karcharodon have revamped their lineup. Scott returning to the drumstool and new guy Jonathan on the bass. We were pleased he got the job as he has usually been in the front row of both our shows. Check them out via their banner below.
Much valued Hallion Horde member, Sarah, has launched her own modelling page. Any interested photographers should contact her via this banner.
There are also updates to The Hallion Horde too. Go check them out! Thank you once again to all of you in there. Every Horde member is a big help in getting our name out there.

Apologies for the lack of updates. We have been on a break of sorts over this year.
"Where's the 3rd album?!" "Where's the new songs?!"
These two questions are probably the ones I hear the most through email and myspace, besides the usual "How are you all?"
So, about time we explain ourselves.
Without excuses, this is a tale of ups n' downs and the real world getting in the way.
Once 2006 started, "Rhythm & Bruise" was released. I had to put together a new Hallion lineup fast! I managed to get Dane to rejoin and had the blessing of finding Mikey and Andy, who were as hungry to make a success of this as I was. We gigged a lot that year and had a blast! Turning us into a fine tuned machine.
Despite having a great year as a band, my personal life was in the kind of mess that was not conducive to songwriting. However, the ideas for future songs were swimming around my head despite the chaos around me.
2007 started well, on TV in the US, not quite as many live shows, but our popularity was growing rapidly. We stuck to our guns despite an arm injury I had and later, Andy's surgery that meant drumming was off the cards for a couple of months (like he followed that haha)
2008 rolls around, and another album should be out by now huh? Demo's started, and to me each album has been an enhancement over the one before it.
Now, Hallion's method of working is a little different but am sure some others might function this way too. The parts of the songs swim around in my head as I observe life. The guitar, bass, drum and vocal lines. I'll put the parts together there too. When the time comes to make an album, I'll remember all the parts and make the demos at my studio. That way, the songs have had time to grow and if I still remember them, by that rationale, they'll hopefully be good songs. Good songs to give to the guys in the band, to learn and improve upon, then to record properly. (So if I ever seem to be "miles away", that's why).
Demo's for the 3rd album were written with 2 guitars in mind. They interplayed and worked in a dynamic sense. Dane left the band early this year. Irreconcilable differences, let's leave it at that. The demo's as they stood meant we would have to find another guitar player. Offers arrived without advertising, and were all strongly considered. I also had the mother of all hassles for 5 months getting my girl Chelsi's fiancee visa.... Never a dull moment!
The week following Dane's departure, we rehearsed as a 3 piece and ourselves and those around us were floored by how we sounded. Mikey and Andy's rhythm section could be heard as clear as a bell! Without the roar of 2 guitars. I knew they were great, but to hear them so clearly got us all excited! None of us had worked as a 3 piece or a one guitar band before.
With this enthusiasm, starting the demos again to make the best of the 3 piece sound, wasn't that daunting. I knew Andy would improve upon my beats anyway, to fill out the mix, I could also give Mikey basslines that were more involved now his bright bass tone could be heard.
Generally speaking, a song's chorus has never come that easy. This time around, the chorus always came to me first and strong. Really memorable "hooky" choruses. I can't wait to belt those out at the top of my lungs.
I know this album has been a while coming, but with 3 demos to polish up remaining.... This will be worth the wait!

There will also be an album of all the cover songs we've been doing at the live shows, the tribute album tracks and various things each of us have always wanted to record. And yes, our take on Paula Abdul's "Straight Up" will most definately be included! We're just working on the legalities.
You may also be hearing some solo work from me. A few songs coming out of me are somewhere between rockabilly/blues/acoustic/country. Not Hallion's usual sound, a lot more restrained than the "epic, minor key roar" as we were once described.

Sadly, we announce our time with Steinman Strings has come to an end. The company has ceased trading.
This is disappointing as myself and Mikey were well impressed with their brand of guitar strings. We are both down to our last pack each and intend to save those for the future grandchildren... haha
Any other string companies out there interested in working with us?
